Adopt-A-Park Program

The Parks and Recreation Department's Adopt-A-Park Program encourages individuals and groups to volunteer to plant flowers, maintain park areas, pick up letter, and provide other services by entering into a formal agreement with the Department.  The Parks and Recreation Department will erect a sign recognizing the efforts of the volunteers.  For more information, please contact the Park Service Center at 972-205-3594.

Tree Donation Program

The Parks and Recreation Department, in its desire to enhance public property and encourage an aesthetically pleasing environment, has established a program that enables citizens or civic groups to donate funds for the planting and maintenance of trees to be planted on public property.  The Parks and Recreation Department will match those funds in the form of an additional tree of similar size and variety, along with the services of planting and watering these trees until they are established.  This offer is subject to availability of matching trees in the City tree nursery, funding, and maintenance schedules.  For more information, please contact the Park Service Center at 972-205-3594.

Street Landscape Beautification

The Parks and Recreation Department is committed to the beautification of the right-of ways along the City streets.  However, as the City grows and additional streets are constructed, it is apparent that the Parks and Recreation Department alone will not be able to meet the demands of maintaining and developing all landscaped areas that will be desired.  The street landscape beautification program allows for individuals, groups, and homeowners associations to enter into an agreement with the City to landscape street right-of-ways.  The Parks and Recreation Department may contribute as much as 50% of the funds toward the installation of the project, contingent upon allocated funding.   For more information, please contact the Park Service Center at 972-205-3587.
