Meal Programs:
The City of Garland provides a hot lunch Monday through Friday for senior citizens age 60 and over. The cost of the lunch is a recommended, and anonymously contributed, donation of 75 cents. Patrons under 60 may purchase a lunch at the full fare of $5.50 if they are available and no qualifying senior is denied a meal. To participate in the lunch program a patron must have the appropriate paperwork on file. Please call 972-205-2769 for more information.
Transportation: Transportation is provided for seniors 60 and over from their home to either center each day. There is no charge for this service. Participants must reside within the city limits of Garland.
Transportation to local doctor appointments can be provided to qualifying seniors. For more information regarding senior medical transportation, contact David McDaniel at 972-205-2890.
Senior Trips: Day trips and extended overnight travel are offered monthly. Information on these trips published monthly in the "Silver Scoop" and quarterly in the "Garland City Press".
Reservation Information: Rentals are available for senior related functions and family reunions. All rooms in the Senior Activity Center are available for rental. Prices vary for each room so please call for current rates.
Waivers/Special Statements: Necessary forms will need to be completed before participation.
