The Aquatics Division is responsible for the operation and programming of the city's four swimming pools. Surf and Swim, Texas’ first municipally operated wave pool, allows patrons to be “at the beach” without the cost and hassle of driving to the coast. Surf and Swim opens Memorial Day weekend and closes Labor Day weekend. Holford Pool, located in north Garland, Bradfield Pool, located in east Garland, and Wynne Pool, located in south Garland are outdoor facilities open Memorial Day – August 17. The conventional pools offer neighboring citizens a convenient and cool break during the hot summer months. Swimming lessons, swim team and water fitness, in addition to open swim, are just a few of the activities available during the summer.
